côte&ciel Searches for the Horizon | Fall/Winter 24

For côte&ciel’s Fall/Winter '24 collection, the Parisian brand seeks inspiration from its internal design monologue, crafted thoughtfully over fifteen years by its head designer, Emilie Arnault, that looks to the ‘Coast and Sky’ and what lies in between, the ‘Horizon’.

This seemingly endless expanse exists where these two opposites meet, creating a limitless line and an invitation to experiment. This expanse inspires côte&ciel to wonder, acting as the foundation of innovation on which their designs are built.

Shot along a stretch of coastline South of Tokyo that has been gradually morphed by erosion, the campaign complements the overriding narrative for Fall/Winter ‘24 by acting as a visual representation of two entities meeting, like the horizon.

Utilising a blend of high-contrast colours and visceral lines, the styling further reinforces the concept of the ‘Coast and Sky’ through clothing as a physical medium. Models are captured and positioned so as not to be in contact, only ever connected by bags, similar to how the Coast and Sky never physically touch, but the horizon separates the two.

The resulting campaign was brought to life by two French photographers and videographers with a history in contemporary movement.
This season, côte&ciel has taken existing styles and given them new material iterations and updated patterns. Additionally, they have introduced new styles that expand on the core design philosophy. The ‘Braided Black’, ‘Pleated Black’, 'Jacquard Grey’, and ‘Komatsu Beige’ fabrications are new for Fall/Winter ‘24 and provide added dimension through texture and form, all with notes of a higher aesthetic dialogue.

Built with ergonomic principles and organic patterns in mind, Fall/Winter ‘24 introduces several new styles, including the HYCO S, a crossbody bag with a signature twist; DALA, a soft backpack with architectural volume; the AMU, a carry bag with a striking and unique construction; and its delightedly scaled-down version, the cute AMU Mini. Existing styles like the ORNE, ISAR, and LADON champion the côte&ciel’s roots while evolving through exterior and interior additions.
