ALIVEFORM x côte&ciel: Living Systems
Japanese-based 3D printed footwear brand ALIVEFORM and Parisian based bag brand côte&ciel unveil a collaborative capsule that blurs the boundaries between the organic and the engineered. Titled ‘Living Systems’, the collection is rooted in material experimentation, presenting a new vision for travel accessories. Offering silhouettes that are at once sculptural and organic, the two brands define a genesis between technology and biotic creations.
This union was born through a shared design ethos: ALIVEFORM’s exploration of infinite geometries through 3D printing and côte&ciel’s physical manipulation of fabric into volume. Both brands challenge convention by experimenting directly with material, unlocking new forms that feel alive in construction. The capsule, rendered entirely in black, consists of three key pieces: the VIRGA Laptop Sleeve (14” & 16”), the first laptop sleeve in 10 years from côte&ciel reborn through ALIVEFORM’s futuristic lens. A web-like 3D lattice encases the device with the appearance of a living exoskeleton, simultaneously lightweight and protective.
Alongside this, the attachable CIRRUS Strap. Featuring adaptive padding, a porous lattice structure flows across its length, punctuated by cushioned nodules that distribute weight evenly against the body. Its skeletal transparency highlights both strength and breathability, offering ergonomics that are as experimental in appearance as they are functional in wear.
Finally, the NEBULA Sling, a fusion of the two design languages: côte&ciel’s iconic water resistant nylon is twisted and folded into a voluminous form, then anchored by a full 3D printed strap that arcs like a living spine across the body. Its geometry casts intricate shadows while providing strength, flexibility, and sculptural presence.
